Robert Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon have appeared together in the first pictures of their upcoming film, Water for Elephants.
Set during the Great Depression, Water for Elephants follows Jacob, a young veterinary student who abandons his studies after his parents are killed in a car crash and runs away with a travelling circus.
Reese plays Marlena, the circus star trapped in an unhappy relationship with the sinister ringmaster, who catches Jacob’s eye.
Robert’s other unlikely love interest is Rosie, an untrainable elephant he must transform in to the star of the show.
As his first big non-vampire role, the film is set to be a major test of Robert’s crossover potential. He reportedly received a mere $1.5 million for his role, despite earning several times that amount for the Twilight franchise.
Based on the novel by Sara Gruen, the film is set to be released in the UK in May.
Very insightful and interesting. I hope some of the execs read and heed your suggestions.
