Talk-of-the-town TV star Ricky Gervais has caused a further stir by posing in chat show host Ellen DeGeneres’ golden underwear.
The Office star dominated the Golden Globes coverage yesterday following his outrageous performance hosting the awards.
Gervais, 49, took swipes at the whole of the Hollywood fraternity – with Johnny Depp, Robert Downey JR and Tim Allen all falling foul of the comic’s acerbic tongue.
GERVAIS : FUNNY AND FOUL BEFORE HE WAS FAMOUS
When Tom Hanks came out to present an award, the two-time Oscar winner mentioned how there was a time when Gervais was “an overweight but kind comedian” with Tim Allen adding “none of which he is now”.
And now 49-year-old Gervais has shared his toned physique with the rest of the world after being been snapped in pair of tight gold underpants.
US television legend Ellen, 52, asked him to wear them to the Golden Globes with this picture taken just before he popped his tuxedo on.
The picture of the trim comedian on the balcony of a Los Angeles hotel was uploaded to Twitter by Ellen – for her 5.7 million followers to stare open-mouthed at.
She told her fans to “Please enjoy this photo of Ricky Gervais in my underwear.”
One follower asked “No matching bra?” while another said “Oh my! What can you say! I’m spechless!”.
Gervais’ raunchy Twit Pic follows Hollywood socialite Kim Kardashian who uploaded a saucy shot of herself in a revealing bikini last week.

Despite Colin Firth and Christian Bale winning Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor respectively, the Brit everyone was talking about the Reading-born host.
When talking about Facebook billionaire Mark Zuckerberg, Gervais said: “Heather Mills calls him the one that got away.”
He then described the film I Love You, Phillip Morris, starring Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor, as: “Two heterosexual actors pretending to be gay – which is the exact opposite of some famous Scientologists.”
Footage showed some Hollywood stars, including Robert De Niro and Alec Baldwin, collapsing with laughter. But not everyone was as impressed.
The New York Daily News described his performance as “tasteless, bordering on nasty,” and the LA Times called him “snotty and abusive.”
And film producer Harvey Weinstein joked that he “will never work again.”
His style was reminiscent of the bigoted character he made his name playing on The 11 O’Clock show in 1999.
But Gervais played down the controversy. In a statement he said: “Everyone took it well and the atmosphere backstage and at the after-show was great.”
He added that Tim Allen and Tom Hanks weren’t furious with him and that he enjoyed a drink with them afterwards.
The Extra star – who won two Golden Globes for The Office – is appearing on Piers Morgan’s new CNN show tonight, with the British host hoping for more of the same from Gervais.
Morgan tweeted: “One thing I can guarantee – Mr Gervais won’t be offending me, whatever he does during our interview. More outrageous the better.”
Holy sh*t he’s lost some weight. There’s hope for all of us then!
