A widow is to sell off her £2million property portfolio – at the age of 96.
Landlady Ella Lamplough spent half a century building up her collection of 17 properties throughout Gloucestershire and the Cotswolds.
The portfolio ranges from town houses to commercial sites and country cottages,
All the properties will be auctioned at the Bear of Rodborough Hotel in Stroud, Glos., by Charles Duncan estate agents on Thursday July 15 and are estimated to fetch a combined £1.88million.
Mrs Lamplough’s son Rob said: ”She bought many properties 30, 40, or 50 years ago. My mother is elderly and I don’t live in the area, so the time is right to sell them.
”They are unusual in their own way – there’s pieces of land which a resident might want to buy to extend their property, spots in the centre of Cheltenham and bigger residential and commercial property.
”You just don’t get town centre properties. I think its a great chance for anyone to come forward and get something unusual.”
Included in the sale is a semi-detached stone house in the Cotswold village of North Woodchester, where Mrs Lamplough lives, that is expected to fetch £250,000 even though it needs full refurbishment.
The home next door is also included in Mrs Lamplough’s portfolio, and is expected to sell for £200,000.
