Police have tonight arrested an 18-year-old in connection with throwing a fire extinguisher off the roof of Millbank Towers during last week’s student protest.
The arrest comes after Sky News revealed images of the person the police wanted to speak to in connection with the incident.
Onlookers watched in shock as a fire extinguisher was hurled from from the top of the Millbank Tower with the missile missing one police officer by a matter of inches.
Early reports suggest an 18-year-old college student has been arrested in Southampton in connection with the incident last Wednesday.
It’s understood he is travelling to London where he will face questioning tomorrow morning on suspicion of attempted murder.
He is the 58th person to be arrested following trouble which flared up as 50,000 students protested against government plans to increase university tuition fees to £9,000 per year.
What started out as a peaceful protest soon got out of hands as a small majority of anarchists turned violent, smashing windows of the Millbank building in London before occupying the roof of the Conservative Party headquarters.
