Cedric the cat became a real-life peeping Tom when he got himself stuck in the roof – of a sexy lingerie shop.
Owner Tanya Williams was puzzled by mystery miaowing for several days before finally realising it was coming from the ceiling above the saucy undies outlet.
She climbed up some stepladders with a drill and a pair of scissors and cut through the plaster to find the face of the two year-old tabby staring back at her.
Tanya then gently eased him out of his hole after a careful two-hour operation as kind-hearted customers minded her Provocative Pleasures store in Swindon, Wilts.
Cedric appeared hungry and emaciated and was taken straight to the vets where he was put on a drip.
He has now made a full recovery – and looks set for a new life with Tanya as his former owner said they did not want him back.
Tanya said: “I thought I was going mad because each time I checked there was nothing. The last thing you would expect is to find a cat up there.
“On Saturday I heard this incredibly loud, distressed sounding wailing coming from the ceiling.
“But never in a million years did I think a cat was in the ceiling. I took a pair of scissors and just thought I’d have a look.
“We had to pull him out of the ceiling head first – it was like giving birth to a cat.
“He fell onto my shoulders and I have never had a cat cuddle me that much before, he kept nuzzling me.
“We had an instant connection and he just seemed so relieved to be out of there.”
She added: “I fell in love with Cedric as soon as I saw him and would have happily cat-napped him, but it was really important to me to find the owner.
“Now it turns out they didn’t want him and I’m so excited to bring him home where he’ll be joining my other cat Arthur.”
