Dorothy wannabe Lauren Samuels dared to make her grandparents dreams come true when she paid a flying visit – on their 60th wedding anniversary.
Lauren is through to the final four of BBC 1’s ‘Over the Rainbow’ after wowing the judges last Saturday night.
And the stunning 23-year-old celebrated by going home to surprise her grandparents Theodora and Ted Burgoyne, who celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary.
Lauren, from Nuneaton, Warks., said: ”It’s the first time since the show started back in March that I have had the chance to come home and see everyone.”
Shocked Theodora, 84, who has six other grandchildren and a great-grandson, said: ”It was a lovely surprise.
”We haven’t seen her for some time and we are so very proud of what she’s doing.
”She had always been a little star to us.”
And proud Ted, 88, added: ”Lauren is a lovely girl and deserves all the success she can get.”
