Disabled Michael Smith, 34, was clocked driving his Bentley Continental at 119mph on the A47 near Peterborough, Cambs., which has a speed limit of 70mph.
He pleaded guilty to speeding but argued if his license was taken away his business delivering mobility aids to disabled people would go into liquidation.
However, Peterborough Magistrates’ Court District Judge Ken Sheraton disqualified Smith from driving for one year and fined him £200 and £70 costs.
Father-of-two Smith, from March, Cambs., told the court: ”I need my car for my business. If I am disqualified then the business will go into liquidation.
”I also have two children in Leeds who I see every week. I have now sold the Bentley. I am getting a mobility car, as I only have one leg.
”I don’t think I was going that fast and I was only speeding for a short amount of time.”
