X Factor boyband One Direction have received a huge £2 million investment from Simon Cowell’s Syco record label, setting them on the way to becoming one of Britain’s biggest pop bands.
The boys were initially handed just £8,000 each when they signed the deal, but the new cash injection should turn them in to one of the label’s biggest priorities.
They were pictured yesterday in LA with fellow finalist Cher Lloyd.
A source told The Sun: “They are in the States to meet top producers and songwriters before they start recording material for their debut album.
“Even The X Factor finalist usually waits nearly a year to release their material but Simon is keen to get One Direction cracking.
“They are getting stuck in and will put out a first single this spring. Then hear the cash register chime.”
Fellow contestants Rebecca Ferguson, Aiden Grimshaw and Cher Lloyd are all reported to have been offered record deals through Simon Cowell.
One Direction are fabulouus!! I know they get so much hate, but its so unnessecary! For a group of sixteen, seventeen, eighteen, nineteen year olds they have done incredibly well and I think they deserve everything they are getting. One Direction infection is slowly sweeping through Europe, and it won’t be long before it hite America as well!
LONG LIVE ONE DIRECTION!!! x
