A new 45,000 sq ft warehouse unit is to be built next to the Oxford Ring Road after land was snapped up by a developer.
Two acres had been left in the Network Oxford Trade Park in Oxford city centre.
But the last remaining plots in the hugely popular development were bought by Kier Trade City LLP.
They will develop a new nine-unit trade scheme offering trade/warehouse units from 3-5,000 sq ft and totaling 45,000 sq ft.
Andrew Stothard, development manager for Kier Property (on behalf of Kier Trade City LLP) said: “Kier Trade City is pleased to announce the purchase of Network Oxford to add to our growing Trade City portfolio. Oxford has huge potential and being able to acquire a site of this nature in this industrial location is an exciting prospect for speculative development.”
Commerical property brokers VSL & Partners acting on behalf of Rego Developments oversaw the deal.
Duncan May, associate director at VSL & Partners said: “This will provide much needed supply to the Oxford area and would notably be the first speculative industrial scheme in Oxfordshire in the last decade.”
The Network Oxford Trade Estate is located on the East side of Oxford only 200 yards from the Ring Road. VSL & Partners let 20,000 sq ft on Phase 1 of the successful trade/warehouse development to tool hire company Speedy Hire and let a further 20,000 sq ft on Phase 2, which VSL let to builder’s merchants to Travis Perkins, creating a desirable trade location.
