A female musician will appear at court charged with taking her young daughter to an AA MEETING – while DRUNK.
The 40-year-old mum, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with being drunk in charge of a child under seven years old.
A police source said the woman was “heavily intoxicated” when she and the “frightened” toddler turned up to the AA group at a night-time meeting being held at a church on New Year’s Eve.
West Midlands Police yesterday confirmed that the woman, from Birmingham, was arrested on March 13.
The woman, who is internationally renowned in the music industry, is due to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court on Thursday for a first hearing.
It is understood she regularly travels abroad for her job.
The source said: “On New Year’s Eve the mum took her little daughter to an AA meeting, late in the evening.
“The woman was allegedly heavily intoxicated.
“Her little daughter was very distressed and frightened and was later taken away from her mother to a house of safety.
“The woman was arrested and spent the night in custody.”
