Liverpool have officially confirmed the signing of Uruguayan Luis Suarez for 26.5million Euros.
The deal was completed after the 24-year-old striker passed a medical at Melwood earlier today.
Suarez has signed on a five-a-half-year contract and will wear the fabled number 7 shirt – worn in the past by manager Kenny Dalglish.
The delighted striker, who signed from Ajax, told Liverpool’s official website he “was joining the most important club in the world.”
Fans of the Anfield club will now wait for official announcements on the signing of Andy Carroll and the departure of Fernando Torres, who is expected to leave for a British record £50 million.
