Pop sensation Lily Allen today married her builder fiancé at a ceremony in the beautiful Cotswold countryside.

The blushing bride tied the knot with Sam Cooper at the picturesque St James the Great church near her home in Cranham, Glos., in glorious sunshine.

She had tweeted she feared ”275mph winds” were going to ruin her big day, but she only had a slight breeze to contend with as the sun came out.

Lily, 26, arrived in a dark green Bentley Turbo shortly before midday in a stunning white full length wedding dress.

Obviously thrilled, Lily sported a mile wide grin and waved and joked with the one hundred locals standing outside the church.

She made the 20 metre walk to the church entrance with father Keith Allen and was met by six bridesmaids – including T4 TV presenter Miquita Oliver – before entering.

The family were accompanied by Lily’s step-father comic Harry Enfield and TV presenter Angus Deayton.

The fifty minute ceremony, led by Canon Michael Irving, included the traditional hymns ‘Lord Of The Dance’, ‘Jerusalem’ and ‘Make Me A Channel Of Your Peace’.

Lily’s younger brother, actor Alfie Allen, was an usher.

Family friends Robertson Furze and Aster Cordell both read poems during the service while Jill Phorley read a passage from the bible.

Speaking after the service Canon Irving said: ”There was a great stillness during the vows and the giving and receiving of the rings.

”Both Lily and Sam looked radiant and happy.”

Canon Irving revealed there were no cheers when the couple were pronounced husband and wife but said there was great applause as they came back down the aisle.

Lily and Sam then left the church to further celebrations and stood at the entrance as delighted villagers applauded the newlyweds.

They then jumped into their chauffeur driven Bentley and sped off, with the bride waving from the window.

Guests then left the church, with Harry Enfield describing the service as ”emotional”.

As the family and friends headed back to lily’s country pile, the glorious sunshine erupted into a fierce downpour.

Lily and Sam, who live a stone’s throw from the church in a £3million mansion, made sure their service was a ‘local’ affair and booked the church choir.

Canon Michael Irving came out to thank local well-wishers for the way they had welcomed Lily and Sam into the community.

He said: ”In the six months I have know Sam and Lily they have said how much they really feel at home in Cranham.

”They love the village, they love the pub, they love the cricket club and they feel they have been made extremely welcome.”

Lily’s 12-year-old nephew Ted Lavender will later play the role of DJ, spinning the decks into the early hours of Sunday morning.

The Highways Agency had earlier closed the main road through the village and there was an increased police presence – all paid for by the kind-hearted singer.
