TV star Jonathan Ross has publicly outed his daughter – revealing in a radio interview she is gay.
The 50-year-old presenter, who famously joked that gay people should be adopted, made the revelation about 19-year-old Betty Kitten in an interview on Gaydar Radio.
When Ross was asked how he would think if his daughter bought a girl home, the exuberant chat show host replied: “Well, my eldest daughter is gay so that’s a question I’ve dealt with on a regular basis already. And providing it’s a nice woman, I’m thrilled.
“I think that’s pretty much out there – she talks about it on her Twitter feed.
“As any dad, really, I love my kids regardless of who they are, what they do, and I would love them if they were in trouble, I would love them if they were going through difficulties.
“Certainly, their sexuality is A: really none of my business and B: certainly none of my concern. I just want them to be good, happy, stable people and so far, all three of them seem to be that.”
Betty Kitten is the eldest of Ross and his partner screenwriter Jane Goldman’s three children. They also have a son Harvey Kirby, 16, and 13-year-old daughter Honey Kinny.
Ross quit the BBC last year following a successful, but controversial career at the corporation. However, he will be returning next month to host the BAFTAS.
It’s fashionable to be a lesbian these days. He needs the publicity.
Maybe Andrew Sachs could give him a phone call – revenge is sweet!
