An exact replica of the golden gun used in the classic James Bond film is expected to fetch £1,500 at auction.

The solid gold plated gun, along with a single gold bullet with 007 embossed on the tip, was discovered in an attic last summer.
It was made in honour of the 1974 Bond classic ‘The Man With the Golden Gun’ starring Roger Moore as 007 and Christopher Lee as enigmatic gangster Scaramanga.
It is expected to fetch between £1,000 and £1,500 when it is auctioned by Hansons Auctioneers later this month.

Auctioneer Charles Hanson said: ”The gun was made by SD Studios in Texas USA in the early 1980s.
”It is one of very few since with a solid gold plating, the gun had a limited market amongst the wealthy.”
It was bought by a collector from Tamworth, Staffs., in the mid-1980s but was discovered in mint condition last year in an attic.
The gun is made up of a cufflink, fountain pen, cigarette lighter and case.
In the film it was designed to be easily dismantled so as to avoid detection.
It will be auctioned at Mackworth Hotel in Derby on Thursday, January 20.
We have one of these guns.
We are in the midst of inventorying our son’s JB collection and hope to be finished by summer should you or anyone else be interested. We only want to take bids on the complete collection of books, dvd’s, lps, pictures, figure figures, mugs, glasses, etc. We are in So. CA USA. There are around 40 boxes and this is extremely time consuming going through each and every piece. Once completed, we will be happy to FAX the list to anyone interested.

I have one of the original SD Golden Guns, as well. It’s still in mint condition. I sometimes think about selling it.
If you’re at all interested, make an offer!
