Fifteen firefighters were called out to rescue a horse after it got stuck up to its neck in a muddy bog yesterday.
The five-year-old cob was struggling to escape the four-foot deep swamp when the emergency services arrived at the scene in Dorset.
Eight members of the special and animal rescue crew were assisted by regular firefighters, police and a group of locals who eventually pulled the tired horse from the mud.
The horse was checked out by the RSPCA and, despite being dazed, confused and dirty, did not need any medical attention.
