A man arrested after he allegedly set off a number of FIREWORKS during a bizarre fight was named today as – Guy Fowlkes.
American Fowlkes, 33, began arguing with his pregnant girlfriend and assaulted her while working on a fireworks stall.
Police in Ocoee, Florida, claim that fired-up Fowlkes started lighting the pyrotechnic explosives and aiming them in the direction of other members of staff.
He even placed a firecracker inside the fuel tank of a car – although police say it didn’t go off.
Eyewitness Jason Engstrom captured the terrifying moment dozens of fireworks were going off inside and outside the tent.
He filmed Fowlkes storming around the colour-filled tent as a number of the lit fireworks go off.
Pizza delivery driver Jason said: ”About halfway through the video, I notice he starts knocking over tables and I thought this guy is crazy.”
Career criminal Fowlkes, who has been arrested 39 times over the past 18 months, was is currently being held in Orange County jail facing charges of arson, aggravated domestic battery and battery on a pregnant female.
Ocoee Police Department officer Sgt. Mike Alexander added: ”This wasn’t someone who bought fireworks and decided to set them off at the stand. This was a full blown argument.”
Guy Fawkes (13 April 1570 – 31 January 1606) belonged to a group of provincial English Catholics who planned the failed Gunpowder Plot under the House of Lords of 1605.
Sentenced to death, Fawkes broke his neck jumping from the scaffold where he was to be hanged.
