A fed-up resident has erected a fake speed camera made out of a cornflake box to force drivers to slow down.
The dummy speed camera, which has been painted yellow and black, was fixed to a wooden telegraph pole over the weekend.
It is believed the resident who made it was fed up at drivers repeatedly ignoring the 30mph speed limit on Saxby Road, Melton Mowbray, Leics.
One driver said: ”I thought it was the real thing and anyone coming round the bend from the traffic lights with Norman Way will catch it out the corner of their eye.
”I think it would be a good thing if it helped to slow some people down.”
A Leicestershire County Council spokeswoman said: ”We expect motorists to drive at appropriate speeds and do appreciate residents’ concerns but don’t encourage people to take action by putting up their own speed camera.”
What a loser!
Slow does NOT mean safe.

Looks like he needs to watch more Blue Peter!! Did his grandson make it!!

And just how would he know motorists were ignoring the speed limit? Some highly calibrated laser eyes?
Nicely edited picture by the way, one thing though, the car's front end should be in focus and the tail smudged to give the sense of speed you clearly wanted to sensationalise the article with. Unless the car was genuinely reversing at warp speed at the time…?
