A top hotel chain is offering a free one night stay to anyone who shares their name with an England goal scorer at the 2010 World Cup.
Premier Inn is extending the offer across their 589 hotels – where rooms usually cost from £29 a night – to those with the same name of scorers for as long as England are part of the tournament.
But ID must be shown.
Steve Conway, a spokesman for Premier Inn, said they were bracing themselves for a rush of customers called Wayne Rooney, Peter Crouch and Jermain Defoe.
He said: ”This is our way of honouring the squad who are carrying the hopes of the nation on their shoulders.
”It will be a lot of fun if we get our very own Wayne Rooney or Steven Gerrard joining us at Premier Inn.”
