Microsoft was slammed over claims the new Xbox will need an internet connection to run – and won’t work with pre-owned games.
The computer giant is currently working on a follow up to the massively popular Xbox 360, rumoured to be called Xbox 720.
But insiders have claimed it will only work when connected to the internet and with new games making it more expensive to run – and enraged fans took to Twitter to complain.
Stoofoo wrote: “Next Xbox demanding always-online and blocking secondhand titles? Suicidal is the right word for these rumours.”
El Raymond tweeted: “Xbox 720 blocking preowned games will cause havoc with stores and rental places.”
Mihir Fadnavis wrote: “RIP Microsoft. Final nail, meet coffin”.
