This is the moment a shameless thief raids a clothes store’s till for thousands of pounds – after calmly entering the shop with a young child.
The man left the small child standing alone on the shop floor as he prised open a till at a branch of Marks & Spencer.
He snatched a bundle of notes from each tray and returned to the public area of the store in Plymouth, Devon.
The thief then took the lad’s hand again and walked calmly out of the store just before it closed at 6pm on October 23.
Police have now released the CCTV images of the incident and are appealing to the public in a bid to track him down.
A police spokesman said the man made off with a four-figure sum and was possibly joined by a slightly older girl and a woman as he left.
He said: ”To be able to do this, in the closing minutes of a store’s day, is very bold – very brazen.
”It appears he has used a tool, possibly a screwdriver, and from initial estimates has possibly escaped with a four-figure sum of cash.
”Scene of crime officers have attended the scene and searched for forensic evidence which may help identify this man. However, we would still like the public’s help in naming him.”
