Lady Gaga may have been asked by Sir Elton John and David Furnish to be their baby son Zachary’s Godmother.
Elton’s husband David hinted at their choice of Godparent during a recent interview with Canadian magazine Macleans.
When asked by the reporter if rumours that Lady Gaga was going to be Zachary’s Godmother were true, he answered: “We haven’t publicly confirmed that yet but your sources are very good!
“I prefer not to comment on it because we are going to make a statement about Godparents later on.”
Sir Elton and Gaga have become close friends since performing together at last year’s Grammy’s and the music legend has publicly heaped praise on the eccentric singer, describing her in one interview as “The Queen of Pop.”
Gaga’s recent involvement with the gay rights movement in the States also means that she is in touch with causes close to the couple’s heart.
David explained: “She’s all about inclusiveness and tolerance. She believes that you can be whoever you want to be and that we don’t have to live in a world of conformity and that we can all [benefit] from individuality.
“That’s the best message in the world. The freedom to be who you are, do what you want and love who you want to love.”
Baby Zachary was born to the couple by surrogate in December 2010.
