Businessman who crashed his Bentley while drunk AND banned stripped of licence for four years

A boozed-up businessman who crashed his £100,000 Bentley while drunk AND banned has been stripped of his licence for more than four years.

Kalber Phagura was more than two and a half times over the limit and already disqualified when he got behind the wheel of his luxury Continental GT10.

He ploughed through a 3ft-high garden wall, clipped the side of a house and crashed into a car parked on the driveway of the property in Rainham, Kent.

Firefighters were called to the scene as smoke was seen coming from the damaged vehicles but no one was injured.

Phagura, aged 38, gave a breath test reading of 92 mgs of alcohol in 100 mls of breath. The legal limit is 35.

He was charged with harassment, drink-driving, driving without due care and attention and driving while disqualified over the incident last September.

He was acquitted of harassment but pleaded guilty to the driving offences.

He was given an 84-day jail sentence, suspended for two years, banned from driving for 52 months and fined £3,000 at Medway Magistrates’ Court last Tuesday.

Phagura, of Strood, Kent, was also ordered to pay £85 court costs.
