A third of British mums fantasise about celebrity ‘malebait’ – hot young stars too juvenile to have a relationship with.
A study revealed million of mums harbour secret crushes on celebs such as Twilight’s Robert Pattinson and Hollyoaks’ Chris Fountain, both 23 – and even 16-year-old Justin Bieber.
But only one in five women feel they can admit to fancying young stars.
Other tender-aged hunks who are the subject of mum’s fantasies are 18-year-old Taylor Lautner, also from Twilight, and 16-year-old teen sensation Justin Bieber.
The poll of 3,000 mums was carried out by www.MumPoll.com.
Yesterday a spokeswoman said: ”Just because mums are supposed to be responsible and mature, doesn’t mean they don’t have the same thoughts and feelings they had 10 years ago.
”And the fact is that celebrities such as Robert Pattinson and Chris Fountain are really good looking and sexy.
”I guess you are only as young as you feel and with so many young boys taking care of their looks, hair and bodies now they can often act older than their years.
”There has been a lot of talk about female cougars chasing younger men and I guess that has made it more acceptable for women to acknowledge having a secret crush on a young celebrity.”
Other stars causing a stir include 23-year-old Zac Efron from High School Musical and ex-Coronation Street Richard Fleeshman, who is just 21.
Daniel Radcliffe, Chase Crawford, Tom Daley and Simon Bird are also considered incredibly attractive young men, according to the nation’s mums.
Seven out of ten mums said their own age was ‘completely irrelevant’ when it comes to who they fancy – while 42 per cent admitted they always preferred a younger man.
