A British athlete has become the fastest man in the world – dressed as FATHER CHRISTMAS.
Sprinter Alex Daley, 17, wrote himself into the record books after he covered 60m in the incredible time of 7.53 seconds.
He is now the fastest Saint Nick in the world as he scorched to victory in the Santa Dash at the Cardiff Met Grand Prix indoor meeting on Sunday.
The race saw nine avid sprinters dressed up in Santa suits, complete with hat and white beard, take to the track.
But the athletes were able to swap the traditional wellington boots for a pair of high-tech, lightweight spikes.
Alex, of Whitehall, Bristol, said: “It is officially the fastest time by someone wearing a Santa suit.
“I have definitely got that as my claim to fame now. I have put on my header on my Twitter page that I am a world-record holder.
“It was really cool. It is great to have done it because not many people can say they have a world record – even if it is for running 60m in a Santa suit.”
