The nominations for this year’s Brit Awards have been announced in full, with rappers Tinie Tempah and Plan B sweeping the board.
South London’s Tinie, 21, is up for four different awards: Best British Male Solo Artist, British Breakthrough Act, Single of the Year and Album of the Year.
Plan B is also up for the Best Male Solo, Single and Album titles.
Cheryl Cole is in the running for Best British Female Solo Artist and Single of the Year, while Take That have also picked up two nominations for Best British Band and Album of the Year.
Geordie Cheryl, 27, is up against three other X Factor stars – Olly Murs, Matt Cardle and Alexandra Burke – in the Single of the Year category, which is voted for by the public.
This year’s awards are already sparking excitement with the announcement of several major changes, including a new Vivienne Westwood-designed statuette and a new home in the shape of the O2 arena.
