A boy racer who filmed himself doing handbrake turns, wheelspins and doughnuts in his 155mph sports car has been banned from driving – after posting the videos on Facebook.
Dopey Kevin Dalbret, 31, uploaded the clips of him pulling stunts in the blue 400bhp BMW M5 on a road near an industrial estate in Waltham Cross, Herts., in Spring 2009.
But the speed demon was arrested after police spotted the clips of him showing off in the German super saloon, which can sprint from 0-60mph in just 5.3sec.
He was given a six week prison sentence suspended for 18 months after pleading guilty to two counts of dangerous driving at Hertford Magistrates Court on April 21.
Dalbret, of Enfield, Herts., was also disqualified from driving for 12 months and will have to pass an extended driving test and attend a ‘Driving Attitudes’ course.
He must also carry out 200 hours of community service and pay costs of £85.
Broxbourne Chief Inspector Dave Rhodes, of Hertfordshire police, said that the force would ensure that dangerous drivers were brought to justice.
He said: ”Dalbret drove dangerously and without any care for other road users, and his actions could have potentially caused serious injuries.
”I am pleased he has been prosecuted and has had his licence taken away.
”We know this affected local drivers and we?ve listened to and acted on their concerns.
”I hope it illustrates our commitment and pledge to tackling crime and keeping the borough of Broxbourne an even safer place for everyone.”
