A beauty queen who was stripped of her title for lying about her age and address has won another crown – after giving the correct details.
Laura Anness, 27, gave up the title of Miss Cornwall after telling judges she was just 22 and came from the county.
Entrants had to be 24 or under and it later emerged she was three years too old and lived in Plymouth, Devon.
But she has now won the title of Miss Plymouth City after coming clean about her age.
She said: ”It was very exciting. The judges were impartial and very fair. I said I was 27 from the start.
”When I had the Miss Cornwall title taken away I was very upset. I knew it was wrong but I just really wanted to prove that age shouldn’t matter.
”I think the 24 limit just excludes so many eligible women who want to showcase what they are proud of.”
Laura won the title on Saturday and will now enter the Miss Great Britain finals which will be held in November in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset.
She said: ”I am very excited about the final of Miss GB and I will do my best.”
