Chelsea star Ashley Cole is “highly unlikely” to face police action after he accidentally shot a work experience student.
The England defender was “larking around” in the changing room at the club’s Cobham training ground a fortnight ago when he shot 20-year-old Tom Cowan in the side.
Loughborough University sports science student Cowan, on a one-year placement, fell to the ground in agony following the shooting with the .22 air rifle.
He was treated by medical staff at the training ground, patched up and sent home for two days.
Police sources have now admitted to Sky Sports the 30-year-old left-back is “highly unlikely” to face police action.
Chelsea are understood to have fined Cole two-weeks’ wages – thought to be in the regions of £250,000 – for the incident which once again heaped shame on a star.
he would never have done that had he still been at Arsenal.
